leaf blower
Ok, ive read a buncha topics about this kind of forced induction... but ive got an electric leaf blower that is decently powerful considering its an electric. I was wondering if i could hook it up to my cigarette lighter and pump that air into the intake. Stupid idea? im just brainstorming, it would be a sweet project

sorry, please dont do it. there is NO WAY your leaf blower coudl keep up with the motor at WOT, even if it could you are talking 1 or 2 lbs of boost max and at WOT it would probably be a restriction.

ive got a power inverter if that changes anything, and i wouldnt hook it up straight to the throttle body, it would just help out with a little more boost of air

ok. first things first. leaf blowers have been dyno proven (i've seen it) to add horsepower. but these were gas powered blowers. even still this is entirly impractical in anything but a "lets **** around and stuff a leafblower on your motor" situation. the horsepower added is minimal at best, so my advice is don't waste your time.

i would hook it up in a way that it would not only be sucking air through my k&n filter, but i would make a hole that the leaf blower would assist in helping push air into the intake. not ONLY the leaf blower, im thinking that the leaf blower could push some air, and lose the restriction.
