Default Losing boost with an air intake

I recently bought an intake online that was made for the bonneville. When i installed it i was only getting about 4-5 lbs of boost total. I was wondering if anyone had a solution to my problem

Where did you get it? Who makes it will have a lot to do with how it will perform. On a similar note, I noticed when I put a cone directly on the TB that the boost would go down and I got a noticeable decrease in performance, even though it looked cool as hell with the nitrous line sticking out of it. After putting the stock intake hose back on with the cone at the end I saw the boost rise back to normal. This lead me to believe that the available air after the filter has a lot to do with boost. This is all hypothecal and it has (as of yet) only my experience with it to back it up. I know ADTR is doing a LOT of research into the CAI they're putting out. A lot with the length and diameter and its results on performance, I believe as far as Bonnevilles go they're on top of things. It does go to somewhat back up my theory though.

I thought that nitrous addition on a supercharged engine must go after the MAF sensor and throttle body, not before it. :? Correct me if I'm wrong but there are write-ups about it. Only non supercharged engines can inject the nitrous before the throttle body.

As far as ADTR knowing a lot about Bonnies.....hmmmm. Maybe pre-2000 models but not the newer ones. I got ripped off because he sold me a Jet module that will not work on my 2000 SSEi, even Jet admitted that.....and now I'm stuck with it.

I should have been more specific and said "...when it comes to CAI'*" I'm not sure what else they have going on, all I know is of some of the research going into the CAI'*. Sorry to hear they sent you the wrong part but polarbear is right, you should just sell it on here and at least get most of your loss back. Anyway the NOS should be sent in after the maf sensor but in 5months and 5 bottles I haven't had a problem with it yet, not to say it wouldn't have caused a problem if I kept it up but as of date there isn't one. I'm redoing the whole thing to inject after the TB so it won't be an issue, even if it would have been.
