Simple Upgrades for a 96
Hello!
I just happened across this site today when searching for upgrades and mods for my 1996 Bonneville SE. I'm looking for some simple upgrades as this is my daily driver back and forth to college. Just something to help it and pick a MPG or two. I'm a sophomore and won't start an internship till summer so my budgets tight. I was thinking intake, and maybe a catback any recommendations? Ones to avoid?
I'm a very knowledgeable with cars I also have a 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass * me and my dad restored as my first car which I still have. But when it comes to the front drive GMs, I still have a lot to learn.
Sorry for being long winded, thanks in advanced!

Gutting the air box and putting in a good K&N filter is a good start. As for exhaust, you should have a full stainless exhaust, no need to change it. I new Magnaflow or flowmaster series 80 muffler will give you a nice deep tone.

I thought it was stainless, wasn't sure. Thanks, just want to make sure I don't get something thats going to drone when I'm cruising at 2300 rpm. I'm either going to do those mods or get it painted during winter break, would love to get the body kit off the SSEi like yours for it someday but I hear it won't fit, is that correct?

Can't say for sure, but I see no reason why it wouldn't fit. My exhaust is rather deep and has a bit of a drone when driving at highway speeds. But I'm running rockers, headers, free flowing cat and I'm 3" to the resonator.

Ok thanks, my rear bumper is fading bad at the top and its gotten some dings, the worst from my church parking lot! so I figured when I get it painted I would add the SSEi body kit, it adds some more aggression to it.
