Default Which Thermostat?

Just check out Partsforyourcar.com and now they have a 160 degree thermostat. Should I get this over the 180? Could the coolant be cycled and cooled efficiently this way? Seeing 160 on the guage would be awesome though hehe.

No, only do 180 for you. 160 is for the hardcore modifiers.

Can I ask why? What would happen?

Not sure what exactly would happen but for one thing, your car duing the winter would take a lot longer to heat up. Without the proper supporting mods any aftermarket device will usually not work to well, or could even damage something. Do a search, this has been talked about before several times.

180 drilled is all you need, you may throw a code with it if you make short trips with cool temps and long rests inbetween (I do the odd time). If your worried put the stock 195 back in for winter.
160 is too small for almost all the cars here, it only plays a role in reducing knock retard on heavily modded cars (400+ hp).

Alright then 180 it is. Winter thing shouldnt be a problem here since I just moved from wintery Colorado into massive humidity.
