Sorry, I have them mixed up. Both my manifolds on my cars are tubular. It'* your front that'* a problem. Can you take a pic of a front manifold port straight on? So everyone can see what we're talking about?

Matt, the Machine Shop will want both manifolds in hand to get them matched right. The process involves welding to build up material under the chin, then milling it out to match the ports on the other manifold.

Typically a ruler is the first step.
Most common PEM'* provided by the major vendors are carefully crafted and matched per the comments in this topic. After the ruler. The idea is to have all 6 ports flow equally. Or am I misunderstanding your question?

Im sure most of these performance shops, like the one im using, can bench flow test these too, this is important.
I got the rear manifold off tonight
Im not to worried about those now, they can be the last item to go on the car in January or Febuary for all I care, I also noticed the stock manis on my 97 had thin steel gaskets, almost like shims, say about .15 to .20" thick, doubled up on both sides..my 93 was manifold to head, as are all STOCK Series 1s..intresting..

As Matt says, the manifold pictured with his old one is the front. On the S2 motor the rear manifold is actually in good shape to flow. The front...pictured by Matt is the restriction.
My suggestions on that front manifold is to have material added underneath and have the ports machined round and cleaned up while they are in there opening them up more.
This picture should show the material added under the chin as Bill was calling it.
