Well now I am looking for a tranny cooler for my Bonne'...4T60E tranny...what is the pick of the month??

Thanks..great site...pretty cheap mod also...I've seen that someone has listed DUAL coolers...Are they plumbed in series or parallel ??

I don't think a parrallel would benefit anyone with coolers.

Well how does cooling system work then..does cooler "cool" fliud coming from radiator going to tranny...Or "cool" fluid coming from tranny going to radiator?

I believe it would be the latter....BUT in either case a cooler is only going to reduce temp to an (or average) temp that said cooler is capable of...So running them in series would be pointless...wouldn't it??

You're pre-cooling before it enters the radiator. This serves a couple purposes. You extend the life of your tranny, of course, and you also prevent the hot trans fluid from heating your coolant, resulting in lower engine temps. Putting them in series DOES work. If you doubt this, then put the new one on the other side or at some other location. The air cools both trans coolers as it passes through. Some heat does transfer from the first to the second cooler, but the point is that you're cooling the fluid for a longer amount of time outside the trans, and before it enters the rad.

Yes..I agree with you 100%...Curious, what about if you were to put 1 between each loop to and from the radiator and tranny....you would be cooling to and fro...???

You already are cooling BEFORE the fluid enters the rad and returns to the trans, so you'd have to tap into the bottom line where it comes out of the rad to 'post-cool' it. This would be most difficult on the 92, but fairly easy on the 93-99. The 92 used a slightly different hardware setup. I'm not sure if you would want to do this or not. Giving up the added benefit of preventing the heat from ever entering the radiator would be a tough choice. I'd like to know what temps the trans 'normally' runs. This would help us figure it out. Anyone know? Anyone ever install a trans temp gauge?
