Getting your magnaflow installed
I went to my normal muffler shop today, and they were all full up, SO I went to midas quickly. They quoted me $250 for the install! His problem was deciding weather or not to make new tailpipes behind the muffler. He said there was alot of custom work involved, which I felt was BS. He said the problem was getting it perfectly centered under the heatshield. It cost me less then $100 to have my flowmaster installed on the '89.
At any rate, I left ...I have an appointment at my normal exhaust shop tomorrow @ 11. Now if he gets confused, what exactly should I tell him?
I assumed it was as easy as:
Welding the muffler up to the stock 2.5" pipe
ditch the stock tailpipes
make 2 new tailpipes to go to the rear, at weld them to the stock hangers?
Is that about it?

They don't even have to change out the stock tail pipes, unless you are getting different tips. Mine was done for free, using the stock tail pipes, took all of 20 minutes, so it tells you just how much work is really involved.

mine cost be $150 cash and was done in a little over an hour, and i think it was done at a place called midas or something spelt very similer, actually i got it done a noise boyz but its run out of the midas shop, anywho. that price is to much its not that time consuming for them, they are just BSing you

Meineke (hope I spelled it right) charged me less than a hundred, used the existing tail pipes and took about 30 minutes. But before that, Midas tried to rip me off but I told them to go take a hike.

if you look in the last to pics at the far side you can see the hangers they put on, they did a very nice job of it I have to say, I will get better pics for you tommorow

After I got rear ended, I had a shop in St. Cloud redo the exhaust for me. They replaced the flange between the stock 2.5" pipe and the muffler, two new chrome tips, new custom bent pipe between the muffler and the tips, new hangers, all beautifully welded together. Cost a total of $75.
