I have a transmission rebuild comming up on my 96 SE and am wondering if i can swap out the 4T60-E with the 4T65-E. I wonder this because a freind of mine has offered me a good deal on a 4T65-E.

Not a simple swap. You'll need a 98 or newer PCM to go with it. Your current PCM won't know what to do with that 65.

Is that the only problem though with the swap? other then that is it straight forward? How about the wiring harness, is that all the same?

Maybe you have different gearing :?
Either way, trust us..if you have a '98, you have a 4t65.
