04 GXP organ donation questions.
Alright guys and gals, here'* the deal.
I have a good chance of getting a sweet deal on a 2004 4.6L Northstar V-8 from a flipped/totaled Bonneville GXP.
Since i can't find a cheap Bonneville shell, i'm trying to go with a 1996 Olds Aurora shell. That Aurora has the 4.0L Northstar V-8 but it has head gasket problems.
Soo because of financials, i'd do an engine swap. Now the 2004 GXP is an H body right? The 96' Aurora is a G body, i know this.
Both vehicles use the 4 speed 4T80-E Automatic Trans.
So with all this information out there, what would i have to do to get the guts properly installed?
I'm getting the GXP'* engine computer and the motor/tranny only has 36,000 miles. Would that motor mount into place on the Aurora?
What do i need to do to get the car road worthy?
-D-
OH YEAH, would the brakes, suspension and all that be able to get placed in there? I love bonnevilles and that'* why i'm getting theses internals.

the 96 rora will not work. It used a different northstar, has a totally different interior and suspension
you need the 01+ Aurora. That is the same as the 00+Bonneville. What color is the interior/Exterior of the car. I may be interested in a few things

Well, sadly like you said it probably wouldn't work....even if i had money it would still be A LOT of work to get anything to fit...good god those motors are pretty cumbersome.
But hey, yeah those parts can be found at Atlas Auto Salvage in St. Paul MN on Sycamore St. It was a 2004 Bonneville GXP that some goon decided to roll at 36,000. The motor and trany are PERFECT and the guy at the junk yard is selling the motor and computer for $650 as is. I saw the engine bay with my own two eyes and the only thing that would damage the internals is RAIN! So if any of you guys have the money and time, hit those guys up! It'* a once in a lifetime deal.
I believe that the interior is fine aswell... i was more inspired by that 4.6L Northstar plastic motor covering... haha if anyone is willing GO CHECK IT OUT!
