Turbo/L36-L67 ZZ Conversion
I imagine this topic has been discussed before but if i got a GT1 and *&* Headers and high flow exhaust along with a few other things replaced what are we looking at if i installed one? Mike was telling me that you would need a better tramission or custom tranny. That he said would bump your cost from 3k to around 5k in all. Just thought i'd get everyones advice in this topic. Also im Curious about ZZ'* conversion kit from L36 to L67 to slap on that super charger. What all is intailed in the conversion? Anyways food for thought.

I also think its waay overpriced for what it does. A top end swap would be cheaper and only a little bit harder. Still losts of work though.

i almost did the zzp m90 kit, but then i thought of the risks......blown motor, blown tranny, and i had planned on just doing the whole L67 swap.

Most practical and economical:
Sell your car and buy an SSEi or Factory Supercharged SLE/SSE.
Next most practical:
Full swap to L67. Engine, trans, axles, wiring harness, PCM. You might also consider a full supsension swap. All 4 springs and both swaybars.

In regards to the M90 kit..
They seem to say no to much would be affected, I don't know for myself how accurate it is though
what I wan to know is if that is true Why even have the L67 if the L36 can make more power with the same setup, why not just put a beefer trans in and boost it? I don't know much about boost, so if anyone can enlighten me thanks

In stock form the L36 makes 200 HP. We have tested numerous stock L36 engines to over 500 HP without failure. Yes, it will hold up....................
The internals of the non-HD transmission are nearly identical to the HD version. The differential is weaker but that is only stressed during launching. Any modification that increases horsepower will increase the stress on transmission components but the stock transmission is fine to around 300 crank HP. The life of your transmission will be affected more by how you drive than by the installation of this kit.

The L36 runs higher natural compression than the L67, so it puts you into a real danger zone for everyday driving. That'* how they make more power. Live with risk daily.
