CAi setup-willwren
Im planning on building a heatsheild and maybe running some ducting for my air intake when i get my new pulley soon but i have a few questions. First off, willwren, how did you mount you heat shield to your CAI and how and where should i run my ducting. What diameter ducting should i use and what kind. thanx

most have there heatshiled mounted on the pipe. I mounted mine to the body, with Pleanty of room for the pipe to flex, you have to remember our engines flex ALOT even with good motor mounts

Will was showing me how he bolted the heatshield to his filter itself. The RX-4750 is great for this, just be sure to get drilling shavings out.....
I'm fabbing up a plexi box next week...
I've found that 4" is pretty much too big for running around an SE bumper, i don't know what kind of room they keep under the SSE body, but 3" ducting fits nicely in my new setup.

If you don't mind giving up a bit of bling for a little more air, you could try a FWI like my setup. No heat sheild required, because it draws directly from outside air. Pics:

And then /adtr2.jpg and so on, up to adtr9.jpg.
Get it? Should be pretty clear how I mounted the box to the filter, but keep in mind that the ram-air feed is an integral part of the system. I currently don't have my IAT in the filter, it'* back in the pipe, with my WI nozzle in that hole of the filter on a bracket that sprays directly down the intake pipe.

Along the same topic, in order to run the tubing, you would need to remove the charcoal canister (EVAP) right? Would that set off any codes?
