I have a 2000 S10 pickup. 2.2 L automatic. I have owned this truck for 3 yrs. I have put 7 starters on this truck since I have owned it. Starter last about 3 to 4 months. I have purchased starters from other places in the area and the same thing. Something about kickback? I don't know. When this happens it brakes the gears or brakes the nose off the starter. What is causing this? Any help would be grateful. Thanks!

After that many I would be taking it to a real mechanic so you could maybe get a good warranty on the work. Thats a hell of a lot of money to be out on that many starters.

Gona take it a different mechanic when it craps out again. This would be the 3rd mechanic I've taken it to.
