Pontiac Grand Prix Dual Thermostat

Once side (drivers side) blows hotter air than the passenger when AC is on. I'm thinking the dual control has gone out. Any suggestions and how easy to fix it yourself. Oh yes and probably a dealer item. No fun. Thanks for any help.
