I know this will be an easy question for you but it is stumping me.

I replaced the Steering rack in my 91 grand prix and now it will not start. In mean the engine will not turn over. Everything else electrical is fine and the battery is perfect but it wiill not start. The only possiblity is can see is the following. P.S. There is no air bags

1. When lowering the engine cradle to R&R the rack maybe a wired was pulled and broke or
2. Since the steering wheel was being turned back and forth will attemping to align the steering shaft with the rack stub along with pushing uop and pulling down the column shaft during the fitting. Maybe there is a sensor or something in the steering colum that was effected that is not allowing it to start.

I am stumped, any help is appreciated.

I am still having the starting problem. What I have done additionally is to test the starter by manually crossing the poles to confirm that the starter is still functionable and it starts with no problems. I still cannot start the car by turning the key. As a temporary measure, I have wired in a manual starter button that can be used to start the car. Is it possible that a transmission park sensor may have been dislodged or damaged and is preventing it from starting the normal way?
I am still looking for comments, suggestion or cures to fix this problem.
Any help is appreciated.
