Pontiac Historic Services

Has anyone dealt with these people before? Thier services seem really cool!

Maybe one of our Mods could contact them for a potential club discount?

MOS95B, Nice site. Brings back memories. The first car I ever owned when I got back from in country was a 1968 GTO.

You suck! :crying: Those were awesome cars!

So, at the risk of stirring the hornet's nest again, your opinion on the new "GTO"

I haven't read up on any reviews yet but I sure would like to take one for a test drive. Someone posted a pic and it sure looks like the trunk is styled after a Lincoln Mk VIII with the raised hump.

Just wondering because I seem to be one of the very few that don't think it, for lack of a better term, "deserves" the name. Just something about the way it looks doesn't say GTO to me.

Back to the topic, though, I'm really tempted to risk the $35 on thier history pack if it'll actually give me the information they claim it will.

A copy of the factory invoice or billing history
A letter decoding the options (when necessary)
A copy of a dealer order form for that year
An official photo for that year Pontiac, if available
Other specific information for that year and model Pontiac, if available

Not necessarily, the dealers only have complete info for about five years back--and that's not guarenteed. General Motors, Pontiac Division Customer Service has info for vehicles up to five years back and anything older they refer to this service. It is worth the $35 if you really want to know your car. This is the official service for Pontiac owners who want to do research on their cars.

Way back in the mid-1980s sometime, before they started charging for their services, I sent in a request for paperwork on the '72 LeMans I had at the time. I got back photocopies of the build sheet (unfortunately some lines were almost blacked out, which was strange, but I finally decided it was somebody's attempt to be helpful and highlight the interesting stuff, but the photocopier just turned it black instead), a multi-page copy of the 1972 press release about the entire model line, and an 8"x10" glossy black-and-white print of a Luxury LeMans -- I guess all the GTO photos were taken.

One of these days I'll send them the $35 for my SSEi listing. If someone else has already done that for their car, tell us exactly what you get in return for your money nowadays...

I emailed PHS to ask what they could provide for a '95 Bonneville, I received a note back saying they can't do anything for that car yet, wasn't clear if they might have something for other years

Interesting, Pontiac Customer Service referred me to PHS for my '95 Bonneville. I haven't taken the $35 plunge yet--but if they can't give me anything, maybe I won't :x
