1993 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight Door Chime Issues...
Ok, so I recently had to replace my Brake Booster, well after said completion which wasn't to bad, my vehicle now has a NEW issue(*).
When i take the key out of the Ignition, even if the Lights are off, I get the Dinging Chime that says my headlights are on.
I also have no Dash Lights, when i turn on my headlights, the headlights, turn signals, brake lights, and interior Dome lights work fine, as well as the door chime if I open it..
Been spending all day rechecking all wires but I am finding no Grounds that aren't hooked up, no fuses are blown, but I am being driven crazy by this chime.
Also, the chime will stop if I close the door, but I still have no dash lights and I am more worried about having dash lights than anything since I work 3rd shift... Any help/ideas would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!
Thanks,
Tony

What had happened was, I had a "Black" wire that we weren't 100% sure what it was grounded to, so we did a chassis ground on it, however, that wire ended up actually being a "hot" wire. And since we grounded the "hot" wire, it was blowing the Dashboard'* Fuse, which after we disconnected that wire, and replaced the fuse, all is back to normal
I'm still not sure what that hot was going to, but I capped and taped it off, so that is a project for another day.
So as it stand right now, always triple check everything you do, lol
