i put e3'* in my 3400 at 100k and sold it at 170 plugs were still smooth as new. and got slightly better mileage the whole time. the delphi is all i used to buy until 6-8 years ago when they only lasted as long as the cheap Chinese junk at twice the price.

Hey guys I still need some help. The car seems to run much better might still have a very minor miss to it but when you first start the car the idle kind of stumbles and then seems to race a little and then settle down if you wait for about 5 or 10 seconds but then it kind of stumbles for a couple seconds and then runs fine. If you put the car in gear when the idles up it almost wants to take off on you but then the slight stumble and then runs fine. I scanned for codes and none being thrown. Any thoughts on this please. Oh yeah still have to change plugs 3 and 5 in the back but the other 4 are new. This wouldn't cause this problem would it? The car runs pretty good but has this starting and slight idle problem only then. Idle seems to be okay after that.

You may have other problems, but finish changing the plugs first.

If you continue to have a misfire after replacing plugs and wires, the next step will depend on what trouble codes your car is showing. We need to know if it is a random misfire, or cylinder specific. A random misfire could be related to ignition coils, ignition control module, or fuel pump. Cylinder specific could be injectors or internal engine mechanical issues.

We can walk you through how to narrow down the list of suspects, but my guess (if you still have a misfire on cyl #1 after plugs and wires) is a plugged or defective fuel injector. If that is the case, I would start with half a can of Seafoam poured into a full tank of gas to see if that corrects the problem. If that does not work, we can explain to you how to test each injector to see if that is the problem.

Pour half the can of Seafoam in a full gas tank. Save the other half, and pour it in the crankcase (where you add engine oil) one week before your next oil change. It will clean your engine'* innards (that'* a technical term).

Didn't get a chance to do anything tonight as I had to work late. When I started the car when leaving the idle stumbled for second or 2 and then shot up to about 2000 rpms for several seconds before settling down to normal. Any thoughts on that? Car ran okay home but seemed to be missing a couple times.
