Well, at least you are confirming what I'm reading for me so thanks. Next course of action is call Innova and ask about a firmware upgrade since I can't return the scanner... Hopefully that'll pay off.
Thanks for the heads up on alarm function. I wasn't sure which systems it killed if any. And yah, I'll be using my test light on all the fuses in the box shortly to double check them.
As to a new thread, I almost did that in another section but saw that cross posting is frowned upon so just went with it here.

under the dash is your OBD1.5 the top row goes in order of 1 2 3 etc so use a pin out to connect pin 3 & 4 together with the ignition on and the check engine light will flash a two digit(OBD1)code

OBD1.5 vs. 1/2
@tdewitt34 grounding the 3-4 pins in the 1.5 16 pin connector doesn't work. Oh, if I didn't say it below, I called the Innova folks and they said that their reader would not read that change over year one off and they did not have a firmware upgrade. Go figure.
