Misfire in cylinder 4 2.2 ecotec
I have got the engine in this car after rebuilding it due to bad piston rings. Before I rebuilt the engine the car fired on all four cylinders and was somewhat smooth running other than bad compression. Now that I have the engine in the car I have it started and running But with a misfire in cylinder 4.I replace the four coil packs and had the same issue. This morning I went out to the junkyard and I got four different Ignition control modules. I brought them home and changed all four of them out and had the same problem through all four of them so I doubt buying a new engine control module will fix my problem. I swapped out all the spark plugs try different spark plugs and all of them come out covered in gas in only cylinder 4. I don’t have the help I need right now to confirm that I have spark or not in cylinder 4. In the meantime I am asking for help and ways of helping me troubleshoot this misfire beyond my own knowledge.

First I'd look for spark as soon as you can. While you are getting around to that, check compression. It'* probably a good idea to check fuel pressure as well.

The engine was rebuilt due to burning a very excessive amount of oil and only had about 35 psi in one cylinder. Rings were glued to pistons and 2 bad oil rings. New rings and engine bearings. New water pump and timming/balance shaft kit. I tore down the head to replace valve seals and clean well.
Placed engine back in and had no trouble getting it to start just have this misfire that I cannot get straightened out.
