Default No spark after valve cover removal

Can someone tell me why a 2.2 I4 won't start after replacing the valve cover gasket. Ignition switch was left on during the procedure. Module and coil pak were removed from top of engine, gasket replaced and put back together. Now there was never a sputter and theres no spark at the plugs. They also are not wet from gas. Thinking the ignition module got damaged, that was replaced but problem was still the same. Thanks much for any help!

im not sure it would damage the icm but if you replaced it then you know its not. seems most likley some wire or socket on the icm plug got messed up. tug on the wires individually there should be no play. dont pull hard. check the pin sockets none should look bigger than the others

This is a little different ignition system...no cam sensor.....the ICM synthesizes a cam signal.....here'* the schematic.....

The obvious thing you can do is disconnect the harness to ICM and check for power and ground at terminals A and E at the harness.....then reconnect and remove the ICM from the coil module......look at the male pins on the ICM and make sure you didn't bend any of the pins during installation......

If ok, it'* hard to believe you damaged the coil module or the ICM...with ignition on, not sure if a spike could have damaged the ICM during disassembly/assembly...

If pins are ok, did you mess with the crank sensor or harness to it at all?

Like JW suggested, closely look at the harness to the ICM....

If everything ok, there are a few more tests we can do.....
