ABS Brake Bleed

ABS Brake Bleed
I need to bleed my ABS on my '98 Old 88. Manual is telling me to use a Tech 1 scan tool to cycle the ABS valves. Is there an alternate tool? Do I need special module/cartridge for a Tech1 if I were to get one?

Welcome to the forum! When you get a chance, why not go introduce yourself in the Introductions for New Members section? (We don't bite. Really.)
Now, are you just trying to flush and bleed the brake fluid, or do you have a definite problem with the anti-lock portions? If it'* only a simple fluid change, you don't need a Tech-anything. Hope this helps.

Most of the time you don't need to cycle the ABS unit with it'* self bleed procedure. Mostly you can bleed normally (pumping brake with someone at wheel or a power bleeder) and that will fill the ABS w/o issues. Only if you have a problem with air in the system will you need the abs to cycle.

Looks like I have a leak at the Pressure Modulator Valve Assembly. The lines are pretty bad around it and the bottom of the assembly is always has a drip of brake fluid forming around it. So I'm changing it out. Any idea where I can get a rebuilt one. The dealer wants $750 for a new one.
