Good to know Justin, since he sounded like he had VATS, and he has a '99, I figured that it would work for him, the website says.

"All VATS equipped GM vehicles from 89 to 02 that has a wire to the PCM labeled VATS, Fuel enable or Circuit 229"

Unfortunately yes, however if you do not turn the car off after it is running, then you should be fine, if it fails completely then you won't have a problem till you shut it off, then try to restart it.

doesnt have anything to do with the door locks, he was just saying if you leave the engine on it shoudnt quit because of the security, but if you shut the engine off, new start, if there is a problem with the system it will not start again

You will have to find somebody locally that tunes for a living, or if you can wait to send it out, and have it returned, then I know of a guy in Columbus Ohio that should be able to do it, he tunes for a living, and he is very familiar with 3800'*
If turn around time is really important, then he may be able to get you a used PCM, and flash that to your VIN, and turn VATS off, you'd have to pay him for the PCM though, it is usually not too much, I think I paid around 100.00 or so for my used PCM.

He may have already sold his 3800 tuning stuff though, he considered it back in October.
If he still has his stuff, he is not really expensive, and he is very reliable, if you would like I can get in contact with him, or put you in contact with him.

99 cutlass would be 3300 or 3.1 or 4cyl, it was like the predecessor to the alero
