Default 1998 Olds Accident-I think it needs more than a wrench...

"It'* been a bad year..."
Sean Connery 'Wind & the Lion'

We needed diapers and formula, came around a curve back into our apartment, lost traction and slid right into a Nissan Xterra, (I've always had a dislike of Nissan...) her passenger corner through the center of our grille. My wife is unhurt, which is the most important thing. The Olds though, the radiator is pushed back and the airbags deployed. No fluid leaking, still runs and drives. Pictures will be coming soon. Not sure what to do. It looks just like the header panel, hood, wind screen, passenger headlamp, and whatever is needed for the radiator, mainly all the bits and bobs for the front end. Rather unsure what to do next.

Sorry to hear about the mishap, and glad to hear that you both are ok.
Is Insurance going to cover this? I will keep an eye out for your photos.

Yea, glad both of you are ok.

Being a 98, and even if he did have full coverage, I'm sure they will total the car just based on the fact that both air bags deployed. Airbag'* are not cheap. Just the cost of 2 of them (if they can be found) will equal the value of the car.

Great. I've never had my air bags deploy in any of the accidents I'd been in before. I'm glad they did for her though. I drove it to a parking space after the accident. The really ironic thing is...it'* not leaking anything now.

Of course, both insurance companies are aware of the accident I'm sure. So, it depends. What coverage do you have on the car?

I'm sure the insurance companies are both claiming no-fault due to weather. Which means, your SOL unless you repair it out of pocket.

That'* how I've figured it. We haven't heard from ours yet. I don't have the money to repair it. Do you know of anyone off the top of your head looking for a parts car?

Put an ad on Craigslist. I'm sure someone would bite on it being its a running car still.

the people who will want it will only offer you a few hundred because its their job to make money on it. if you have the ability and time to part it yourself you could make more
