Default 94 Olds cutlass superme * l 3.1/idle learn

Hello everyone . Thanks to all who have helped me with my questions so far. I have another one, how do you do a idle learn procedure ? My car has been giving me some problems , but thanks to you all I am making headway. Today I am going to clean the throttle body and MAF sensor . ( I did the IAC yesterday). I'm getting the same stalling at stops and it'* running rough at idle. I really like this car and cannot afford to replace it, it took everything I had to get this one. Thanks again, Gary R. ps: 130,000 miles .

Basically, you clean the IAC pintle and mating passageway, and the throttle plate and bore at the same time.....

Then disconnect the Neg battery cable for one minute....reconnect......block drive wheels with whatever you have......apply ebrake....start vehicle, apply brake, and shift into drive(YOU STAY BEHIND THE WHEEL THROUGHOUT THIS PROCEDURE!)......let vehicle idle until the engine reaches normal operating temp......then put in Park, and shut vehicle off.....wait 10 seconds.....then restart, apply brake, shift into drive for 5 minutes....Put in Park, then shut off vehicle, remove the blocks, release ebrake and you are good to go.....

What this does is, remove the IAC memory from the ECM, by disconnecting the battery....then your ECM relearns the IAC position, via this procedure......

A quicker way, is with a Tech I scan tool, but only GM garages would have one....
