misfire/sputter
my 96 LSS has been dooing this for alittle while. when getting on it the car will sometimes stupper/stubble and basicly fall on its face. i have replaced all plugs and wires and swapped coils over from my aurora witch are farily new. it has two codes cyl. 6 misfire and o2 sensor. any ideas ?

Misfires mean that you're not getting enough of the four things: spark, fuel, air, and/or compression. We've got a great write-up on the code. That'* the good news. The bad news is that you need to check pretty much every major component.
If you have an O2 sensor code, make sure it'* plugged in; if it is, then replace it. (That'* the next step on the write-up anyway.) If it'* got over 60,000 miles, it'* probably best to replace it anyway.
The only times I had my engine misfire (randomly, not one cylinder like yours) was a few years ago when coolant was filling the cylinders (UIM failure), and again last week when I redlined it with the needle on E.

Take a look down by the #6 plug wire and O2. Sounds like they may be touching. Please ensure they aren't touching and let us know if that clears it up.
Yes..it really can be that easy. The high voltage from the plug wire will mess with the O2 reading, which in turn controls your fueling.

okay, i bought a denso o2 sensor the other day and tried to take the old one out but had no luck at all. i will check to see if the plug and o2 sensor wire are touching tomorrow. and im doing the LIM monday, i know thats not the problem. it has the origanial one with 170,000 miles and dont want to press my luck lol
