Question 3.1 V6 Question about Valves, Exhaust Pipe

Changing the head gaskets and I've run into two problems

1. My AllData manual says to remove and reinstall pushrods, rockers, and balls but does not specify anything other than to keep them in the order they were removed and to torque them to a spec (like 17 ft-lbs if I remember correctly). Is this step really that simple or is there a method to reinstalling them the right way?

2.I don't want to get under the car until I get some idea on how to lower the exhaust pipe which is also a step in the AllData manual. I can get it at the tailpipe but I'm not to sure about at the exhaust manifold.

Any I help I can get will be appreciated, Thanks in advance.

I found an answer to my first question, no adjustment is required other than for the rocker to be torqued to a spec... I still am not sure on how i should go about lowering the exhaust pipe... guess I'll suck it up and get under there and find a way.
