2001 Olds Alero trunk will not open with door button or key
2001 Oldsmobile Alero GX Sedan 2.4L Auto.
Do not have key-less remote...
The last week or so pushing the trunk button on the driver'* door wouldn't open trunk, and I'd have to use the key, we figured maybe the fuse was bad, until today....
Wednesday night was the last time I was able to get my trunk open with the key.
I tried today with they key and the key turns but the trunk will not open. Even had a spare key made today and that key would not open the trunk either.
We have tried turning the key while pushing the trunk button, it does not work.
I cannot pull down the back seats to get into the trunk because the back seat release lever is located inside the trunk.
We have tried using a crowbar to pry backseat open enough to try & reach the release lever, no such luck.
Please help! I have work Saturday morning, and need my work stuff out of my trunk.

if you pop the bottom part of the back seat there should be bolts at the base of the back part so you have access to your stuff and the latch. my best guess is something rusted or seized up in the lock or the solenoid is acting up. id unbolt the latch so you can open the trunk and replace it with a junkyard latch.
