2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue GLS Ext Temp Sensor Help
I currently have a 2000 Oldmobile Intrigue GLS. Recently my A/C compressor was replaced and since then when it rains heavily (as it often does here in New York, particularly during the summer), the External Temperature Gauge, which is usually stagnant at 50 Degrees Fahrenheit drops to absurdly cold temperatures, around -38 degrees. Subsequently the Compressor shuts off, leaving me with no defogger or A/C in 85 degree rain.
After doing some careful research, I have discovered that the cause is likely the External Temperature Sensor, which appears to be a relatively inexpensive part at under $20.00 for such a major (and potentially life threatening) problem.
My question, and the focal point of this thread, is how I would go about installing this sensor? Where in the car is it located and how can I safely put it in? Descriptions of what I am looking for would be very helpful and appreciated, but pictures of the area would be more so. Thank you all very much for your time.

never worked on one of those but going from my cars its probably in or around the front of the radiator. you may have to remove the plastic trim in the middle to see it

Location is behind the plastic air dam that forces air from underneath the car to go up and into the radiator (directly in front of a/c condensor). It'* somewhat of a tight space, however you can pull it with force off the plastic air dam it'* connected to (about midway down) and then unclip the sensor from the harness. Just don't pull too hard once you free it from the plastic air dam. These sensors rarely need replacing. If your Dual Digital Climate Control System is giving you an incorrect reading on the display for the outside air temperature, this indicates a couple of possibilities. 1.)The sensor tip is dirty and should be cleaned, or 2.)The green or white wire that goes to this sensor is worn or has broke somewhere before the sensor.
