1985 Oldsmobile running issues
I've got a 1985 Olds Delta 88 with about 43,000 miles on it. It has been sitting for about eight years and I just purchased it. It has been running fine until a couple of days ago. I was driving on the highway at about 60 when I came up to a big hill, I tried to accelerate and it actually started slowing down. I got it to the side of the road and it died. I was able to get it started but it would not move. I replaced the fuel filter and while I had the fuel line off I checked the fuel pump and it seemed to be fine. It starts a lot better then it did before and at first I was able to rev up the engine. as it ran for a minute it started falling when I gave it gas and it died a couple of times. I noticed also when I gave it more gas I could see droplet spraying out of the carburetor. Please give me some advice I am not sure where to go from here.
Thanks,
Brandon

Is the check engine light coming on? Is it flashing? Get you car scanned for trouble codes, which will help us to narrow down what is causing the problem. Autozone will scan for free. You should probably also get your fuel pressure checked. Low fuel pressure is a sign of a failing fuel pump, and will give the symptoms you describe.

It sounds like a bad fuel pump to me.If its been sitting for 8 years the sender might be gummed up or the pump could be all gummed up..That or even the carb is gummed up and way out of tune
