Question Will The US Soon Have Poylmer Currency

Looks like paper money is going to be a thing of the past soon.
I think 13 counties including Australia, Canada , Brazil etc. all use it.
England is about to have their more secure Polymer by 2016 too.

Here in Canada we now have all of the series released in Polymer in $100-50-20-10-5$ notes. It will take a while before the old paper bills are gone though. SO it is a bit of a mix now.
Chris Hadfield back in May spins one of the new $5 from the Space Station, which features the Canada Arm on the back of the new bill released a week ago.

These are sure colourful and stain resistant. I even tried peanut butter on them and it washes right off. I like them now but still am careful as they do like to stick together when new.
Will the US also adopt Polymer in the future...
Time Will Tell.

I like the new bills. I think the 5'* are the coolest though. I think its going to take a long time before the paper bills are out of the system though, I still see a few of the older ones on the go every now and then.

I'll take my good ole fashion jean money. It always has a nice smell(cocaine) to them. LOL.

Canada does use polymer bills, and they are definitely better than paper. Crumple them up, and they return to their original shape. I haven't really tried, but they say you can't tear them. Expose them to heat (such as being in your jeans pocket in the drier on high heat) and they shrink and crumple up into a little ball. I have not experienced this myself, but there are lots of stories about this happening.

Other than exposure to heat, they are practically indestructible.

We dropped the paper $1 many years ago for a $1 coin. It has a picture of a loon on it, so it was immediately nicknamed the "loonie". When we later dropped the paper $2 for a $2 coin, it was only natural to nickname it the "toonie".
