This is an iffy thing for me. I had this imperfection on the bottom left side of my teeth. where it looked like 2 teeth were in front of each other. Never got it taken care of. (parents never realized it and I didn't know what to do. Just brush daily...) but just 5 minutes ago the one in front came out. Snacking on a ham on garlic parmesan french bread with lays Stax chips in there too (yummy!) and it just came out... with a little bit of blood. Now the iffy part. the gum area kind grew around it so now I look slightly deformed there...

Ugh here goes a case of dental problems plauging me for life

That happens sometimes. If the new tooth doesn't line up just right beneath the old one, it doesn't push it out well. I had that with one of my molars, sorta. It just hung on, and hung on there... eventually I had to goop on some numbing gel, and jerk the sucker out. It was still a painful and rather bloody mess, but it had to be done.

If the gums don't shrink back to where they should be, you might actually go to a dentist or oral surgeon, see what they say.

I'm all for asking the dentist if it'll merely heal itself back in.

Our Jessica just had a baby tooth removed, (she is 15), and she is actually missing the adult tooth that belongs where the baby tooth came out of. It just never grew, so now she is wearing braces, only on the top, to move the teeth over, make a gap, and then when she is 18 she will get an implant.

Oh, and our Andrew, well he has only lost 6 teeth, and he is 11, he has all his adult teeth, they are just still up in his gums

Ugh, I hate the thought of braces...

My youngest step-son had to have a 'gum graft' to fill the hole. He was about 15 at the time. Definitely get an experts opinion.

I have a feeling that the gum will grow back where it is supposed to. Do you have dental insurance? There are more options than just braces these days
