Default LIFE RANT! (gotta get this off my chest)

My life stinks right now. I know there are starving children in Africa that have it worse than me, but still. Life stinks. My car is now almost totally dead, and I have NFC what it needs. I don't even have the money to fix it. My education is screwed, mainly because I just don't know what to, and my parents keep forcing me to find something. I'd like to go to Xavier, but no, my parents won't pay for it. I can't get into armed forces because of my weight, I can't find a better job, I have no life, I sit in my basement on my computer all day, and I don't have a girlfriend. Best Buy sucks, and they won't give me full time LIKE THEY PROMISED. I made more money in high school and worked FAR LESS. I do 2x the work any of my managers do, and I get constant recognition from all of my co-workers for the work I do, and I am the ONLY person that knows anything about car audio. Also, I have SINGLE HANDEDLY raised the bar for store margin, and have also helped the store get a 1000 dollar bonus for the quarter. And how much do I get paid? 7.60 AN HOUR!!!!! GOD THAT PISSES ME OFF!!! Oh, and my parents. They hate me, I swear. They're kicking me out soon, so that either means I go to school or else I'm out on the street, because there'* NO WAY I can live with a salary of 600 a month. They don't approve of my lifestyle, they hate my car, they hate when I work on my car. I'm so sick of it. I'm sick of my life. High school was so easy... Anyone have a time machine? I'd love to go back to high school, a time when I actually had friends, and I had a girl, and my life didn't suck. Ok, rant over. I promise I won't make another one, because I pretty much got everything out of my system. I'm not trying to draw attention, I just really needed a medium to vent to. This is my only way. I want you guys to know that, even though I don't know a lot of you, you guys are my main support in life, you give me balance. Thanks. I usually wouldn't say that on the internet for fear of someone flaming me, but seriously. This is the most friendly group of people I've ever met, and it really helps me. I can't wait to meet a lot of you at NEBF. Thanks

I know it doesn't mean much - but keep your head up, and keep doing the right thing. It pays off. I, as most others have been in a very similar situation - got thrown out of the house at 17 (I deserved it), and my options were few. I did as you tried - went into the military. But that was a different time, I can't say as I'd recc. it now anyway, even if you could get in.

As far as your job, update your resume, and pound the pavement. Maybe find an independent car audio shop where you can show your stuff. Offer to work for free for a week or so to prove you have what it takes. IMO, Best Buy isn't going to lead anywhere, it'* a large corporate chain whose focus isn't it'* people - it'* profit.

Most importantly, stay persistent. Life is all about getting breaks, and giving them when you can to those who deserve it.

Things will turn around man, and you'll be amazed how quickly. But only if you keep trying.

Living with the parents after one is 18 sucks like hell. Life after high school sucks. It only gets worse, trust me. Right now you still have the world by the curlies. When you have kids, are over 30, and have a crappy job with little to show for it, THEN you can say your life sucks.

Look, if you are not married and do not have kids, you can work any hours you want. Tell best buy to **** off and find a different job. My job pays only 9 an hour but I do very little work. Only our security guards have an easier job. They get to sleep at work sometimes...

What you really need to do is re-evaluate your life.
What do you want right now and in the future? What are you doing to make changes?
Sit down and make a list. Explore all options. It is no longer your parents responsibility to ensure your well being. I know that bites, my parents didn't seem to care if I went to college or not, I ended up getting some associates in IT that is useless.

These are all problems you can fix on your own though. No one is holding a gun to your head telling you to stay inside, in that case, get outside, do something, doesnt have to cost money at all.
Job hunt, daily, hand out resumes by the dozen, it will pay off man, but it takes work, that I can garuntee.
Just keep at it, its not up to anyone but yourself to pay for anything at all.

.
You know, I've never thought of that. That'* a good idea, and you know, I'll probably try that. I know someone that owns a car audio shop, and I've been trying to get a job there for months. This might help persuade her. And you're totally right about Best Buy not leading anywhere. My old sup. dropped out of college because they offered him a promotion, only to be fired after a "re-shuffling". To this day, he'* living off his parents and can't raise the money to go back to school.

Oh yeah, so true. I realize people have it worse than me, but idk, I just feel like I got the the shorter straw.

Well, I'll admit, I haven't been job hunting vigorously, only because I keep thinking I'm getting full time soon. I'll get out and start doing it once I have time (heh, which would be tomorrow). And about the exercising, yeah, I've had a problem with that for a while. I really need to start getting in shape.

I mean this in a positive way....so don't take it the wrong way.

I sit in my basement on my computer all day,
Here is the root of all of your problems. Me saying anymore may get me in trouble, but really think long and hard about this....

if you don't feel comfortable saying it here, please feel free to PM me about it. I'll take no offense. I know it'* wrong, but what else can I do? I go on a walk sometimes, but after that then what? I don't do much with friends, because they're at school. I have nothing else to do.

No flames here. We all need to vent sometimes.
I am with everyone here, now you vented, go out and do something about it.
I know it ain't easy, it took me almost 30 years o get it all straightened out, and my car is still no where near where it should be, but I can live with that with all of the good things I have now.
Just work hard like everyone says, and don't give up.

All i have to say is, keep trying to move forward in your life. If your not helping your cause, then why expect it to change. Its like people who wish they won the lotto... well you cant win if you dont play. anyways though, if you just keeping doing little things here and there to advance yourself. You'll be suprised how much and what aspects of your life start changing. It might not change tomorrow but maybe next week, who knows if your not trying. Allot of kids our age see friends getting great jobs, new cars and graduating from college and lots of other things. well i can be confident in telling you that all of those great things just dont fall into peoples lives. They have all worked to achieve there goals...
