Due to my choice of boyfriend, I've talked to a friendly neighborhood police officer more than once. Complaints about the Impala: lack of power with all the electronics running due to a HUGE strain on the alternator because of all the crap they need (Chevy didn't feel it necessary to upgrade the alternator with the cruiser package) and the cars'd get all pissy if you left them idling with the radio and scanner and other various electronics on.
Direct quote from one officer: "I hate this thing. I wish we'd get our Crown Vics back."
The sturdier build of the Crown Vic has already been mentioned a LOT, so I'm not touching that one other than to say that I've watched a close friend of mine put that car through more crap...(been through a ditch several times, also been hit by a fire department grass fire truck) and the thing'* still going, with no dents, only a few scrapes, a broken front license plate bracket, and three missing hubcaps
And yeah, Crown Vic cruiser=FUN to drive. And one thing I've learned about v8s...I've said it before, and I'll repeat it as many times as necessary: Sometimes it'* not the 0-60 that matters, it'* the 45 to 80.
Yeah, you heard me :P
please don't ostracize me....
And nitro, congrats on your first drive You hooked
on the cruiser package yet?

Okay, so I've got a strong interest in criminal justice. Besides, I don't live in Florida, so I'm all good, right?

I can honestly say that those Crown Victorias are FAST!!!!!!!!!
I was going home one day last summer in my white car. I was headed west on I-290 and I was doing 119mph. I saw the state trooper sitting on the shoulder as I passed him. I did the stupid thing and just floored it some more and only got 2 miles er hour more. Well, I looked at my rear view to see if he was coming and sure enough he was coming behind me really strong. He had to be doing about 130mph. Never again will I underestimate those cars. Also he gave me a ticket for doing 90 in a 55

Now if only they would use the new SS'* with the 3800 Series 2 supercharged.
When you get on them, they go.
