This is what that sound looks like in the bottom of the tranny pan and around the magnet.

The other sound of course is Ka-Ching$ Estimated repairs $3300. Apparently the pin that holds the planetary gear popped off and then the gear slipped....that'* probably the grinding noise I heard.

Good news....I bought extended warranty coverage when I bought the truck new in November 2004.

WOW!!! Look at all those pretty filings arranged in a purdy geometric order. So Kevin, which way is North?? Lucky we can see some semi humor in it with the extended in place. A sound investment when buying new.

Those magnets really do work good and do the best they can to keep metal shavings from pistons, seals and valve bodies. I checked the transmission fluid with a white rag wipe, and there were absolutely no metal pieces transferred.

The thing that'* funny about this is that I completely forgot about my extended warranty until I after I got the call on the damage and the estimated repair bill. I was going to ask Mike to borrow one of his pink get up'*, then throw on some lipstick and go out whoring for cash! Good thing I found that warranty.....I couldn't live with the shame............of wearing Mike'* pink clothes of course!
