Somebody calm me down!
For the second time in a row, my bank (BOA) screwed up my billpay. My car payment was supposed to come out today (I set it up to come out when I get paid) IT CAME OUT YESTERDAY. Which caused....7 other transactions to go negative The last time this happened, they tried telling me I scheduled the payment not on the date I was telling them, and I called BS, since the date on the check they sent out clearly stated otherwise. Nonetheless, they credited me all the fees that little snafu created. And again, they will credit all the fees incurred by this mistake as well. BUT...am I wrong in thinking that if you actually schedule, through the bank mind you, a payment to come out on a particular date, that it needs to come out ON THAT DATE?
I'm beyond perturbed. Because the money that is coming out today...I was going to spend @SEBF.
*sigh* I need my glasses

I have several bills set up to be paid on a certain date. I have to set it up to be paid the day before, otherwise it won't go out in time.
Is yours actually going out a day early or is it going out at 1201am on the correct day?
PITA anyway, and it don't do your credit rating any good either. Even if the bank corrects the mistake it could still be a black mark against you sometime in the future.

I agree, BOA is not so nice.
Personally, I don't care much for any financial institution though.
That definitely sucks they did that twice.
You can almost see once, but twice :?:
That is why I don't have anything scheduled to come out automatically. I understand the convenience, and that it is sometimes even cheaper ( I know I can save money on my car insurance if I do the automatic payments) but to me the potential problems.
As far as calming down, you can try this

Personally I like BOA. It is everywhere I want to be except up in the Thumb of MI. Go figure.
I would go into your local branch and talk to one of the Account Representatives. Might cost you a little time but you will get better Customer Service. The Account Rep is well aware of the competitiveness in the banking community and wants to retain your account.

For the most part, the bank has been good to me. I've learned to really keep on top of my finances. For the first year or so I was with them, they made quite a bit of money off of me , but since I'm in a career and a home now, they aint takin' a dime from me unless I truely deserved to give it to them.
I DO have Washington Mutual, but it is a spare account in case something catastrophic happens to my BOA accounts. I throw a few bones in there every so often, but I dunno...maybe I should start using them a bit more often.

Two important words that have always worked for me:
Credit Union
Try Fairwinds CU (used to be Navy Orlando CU). See if they have a branch near you. I get the best rates on loans, CDs, Money Market Accounts, Interest Checking, No checking fees, good service, auto transfers, etc...
I haven't used a conventional bank since the early '80s.
A credit union is actually owned by all it'* members. As a result, the best ones are not out to make piles of money off the members.

I personally have set up alot of my accounts to go out a day after I actually want them to go for this reason exactly. I dont understand why BOA has this horrible habit of screwing costomers but If it doesnt make the payments late to whomever you are paying I would suggest doing the same. That way say you get paid on the 15th... If you dont get paid untill 5 pm on the 15th a 12:01 am payment doesnt put you in the negative. Im Sorry to hear that this has happened to you as well. I do suggest swiching banks so you dont get stupid fees added to your account for something they did wrong though ( read Teller fees!) Good Luck!
