If you're gonna knock myspace, and stuff like WoW...

Just remember, you're sitting infront of the computer on a daily basis posting all or every chance on BC....And whatever other sites you maybe a part of.....

It'* all a rationalization. You can't say something like this really with out being a hypocrit in the end.

I wasn't knocking myspace at all, that was Jack. I'm actually fine with myspace, because most of the time, you're talking to your friends that you already know, not some gremlin or dwarf. Really, I shouldn't have brought morality into play because, really, I'm not that big of a moralist myself, but the main point here is the fact that these computer games are taking over peoples lives. Now, I know that might seem silly to a lot of you, but let me tell you about a friend of mine. He lived next door to me, and he was a nice kid, very VERY smart, but he had problems making friends. A few years ago, his parents gave him WoW for christmas, and he instantly spent days and nights constantly playing this game. I thought that this might be because he just got the game, well, he still plays it more than ever, still doesn't have any real friends (that I know of), and he barely even goes to school anymore. I don't know, maybe I'm just spinning my wheels a bit.

Whoa, maybe I wasn't clear, I wasn't knocking MYSPACE. I was just using it as an example of how some people can misuse and pervert something and allow it to take over their lives, while others can use it as a benificial tool or merely enjoy it responsibly as recreation.

YESI think people should be tought to be responsible with things, NO I don't think every one should be lumped into the same group because someone else who played the same game they do let it consume their lives.

I'm going to step out of this now before I fan anymore flames

Society changes, for the better or worse. There'* not much you can do unless you can get everyone to change, which is a nearly impossible task.

Back in the '20s it was drinking, prostitution, and fighting (and still is like that today). Societies go through their phases, just like the economy. I'm honestly not the least bit worried about it.

I played WoW for many hours and many days in a row . I used it as less of a outlet to be lazy but as a way to save money and stay out of trouble. While i was as some may call addicted i saved up enough money to rebuild a car engine upgrade a suspension. And i stopped drinking alcohol as well as stopped beating people up in bars. So it depends on what point of view you look at it from.

Im gonna say for the official first time, this topic seriously pisses me off...

I play WoW... alot! BUT I dont let my personal life suffer becuase of it. Ive had my g/f for 3 years coming wednesday, I've got more money saved away for future plans then most people in there 30s, AND Ive got ambition for more. Im starting a new job soon and Ive had no trouble getting that job.

You CANNOT generalize with topics like this! I dont drink, I dont do drugs, I dont go get into barfights... I play WoW. Its kept me out of trouble and occupied in my spare time. There is NOTHING wrong with that.

ALSO your little BS comment about talking to a dwarf or goblin is WAY off base!!! Those are REAL people!!! Ive made GREAT friends with ALOT of people. Same as I have here on BC. The two are exactly the same, they are both complex chat rooms! So I can sit here and talk to my freinds about there cars and personal things that they feel comfoprtable telling me or I can sit on WoW and talk to my friends about there gaming and the personal things they feel comfotable telling me.

Some people ALWAYS take things too far. I dont, and you know what? Of the millions and millions of people that play WoW there is a very small amount that do. Blizzard (the Co. that makes WoW) has done nothing but created a place for people to be friends and have fun.

The've done nothing wrong, and the game, nor the company should be put down for it.

[/end rant]

You know what? I'm done with this post. I wrote it to tell a story about something that happened in my life, and it turns into a flame war. This is not the first time it'* happened on this site, and it really makes me angry. Moderators, please lock this post
