A ride in an Integra.
Last night I was hanging out with some friends. One of them owns an Acura Integra GSR. It has a VTEC and $1600 worth of performance suspension, along with minor engine mods, a heavy duty clutch, and exhaust work.
Now, I am not the kind of guy that goes for imports. So this was my first time given a ride in his car. I gotta admit, this is one fun car! It corners at high speeds like nothing, and it is fairly quick. He can take turns at 50 effortlessly. I was very impressed with the car. He told me he really only cares about how it handles, hence all the suspension work done. It really was a good car. It is not RICE at all.
I just thought I'd share my thoughts with ya.

Sounds like fun, i agree that cars should have mods done to everything evenly. Balls out acceleration is no good if you car leans 30 degrees in corners at normal speeds.

gsr'* are nice!
Im not a rice hater,My wifey owns a civic.And theyre are a lot of good looking ricers around here,You know the ones with the minimal body skirts,(not the extra 5000 pound body kits).Cool wheels and normal height wings.One things thats gets me though is the ricer with the carbon fibre hood (made for the lightweightness right?)on 20" chrome wheels and huge amps and subs in the trunk.I dont get it you add 5000lb'* of external body kit and sound system then waste money trying to save 10lbs on an expensive carbon fibre hood .

Sorry guys..... ......an Integra is a Ricer. I know, I know, there are varying degrees of ricer but to some of us Die Hard Brand Loyal Patriots of North American born and bred ingenuity and Musclecar Power still term all Asian imports with buzzy sewing machine engines as Ricers.
You would have to have been a teenager in the 60'* to really appreciate the "Made in Japan" reputation they deservidly got and how they reformed and restructured their whole industrial base by stealing (Achem...Borrowing) North American ideas and making them better (smart people and a real powerful nation....all 2 billion of them!)
While it'* true that most of the Import cars driven here are made in North America using parts made in NA. This is great! Sure, it makes sense for them to save the expense of shipping but you can put money on the fact that it was negotiated that way by the Federal Bureau of Something or other to try and protect NA jobs.
....and because we live in a Capitalistic Democratic Society where the people decide...
Consumers = Products = Companies = Money = Power = Control
Now I'm not saying Ricers are Baaaaad. Nooooooo.

Shipping for what? Civics and such are made in Canada
I'll stick to my four door, rear wheel drive, force-fed inline-six luxo-barge Toyota, if not, a Bonny
