my father did the same thing when he had his 1st kid. He finished the pack in one day and said he'* done with it. So did my brother inlaw when he engaged my sister

but i helped many friends quit back in the days, some of them slowed down to one smoke a day then dropped it, but most of them used the nicotine gum or patches, and it helped alot.
but it would be much better if you just stick to your word and quit cold

There are these inhaler sticks u can use.. they have little nicotine tubes u put inside and they worked great.. I wasnt even really trying to quit but tried these for a couple days anyhow and almost did quit with these! but then on the last stae was thrown in jail and craved cigarettes, and my cell was right by the back door where the guards smoked and i could smell em.. Not sure of the name.. they are white, the tip u put in ur mouth is shaped like the tip of a cigar and they pull apart in the middle to change the cartridges..

My parents are going through divorce. My dad and mom are quitting. Moms been eating extremely healthy these past few weeks so i asked about her smoking. she said "thats the next step."

All i can say is try not to be to hostile when you quit. No cigs for a few days make you hostile, sick, then just normal. My parents quit for 3 months and they were hostile :/

Good luck

I quit 18+ years ago. I used the patch after a couple of past attempts to quit. I left the patch on foot 24 hours. Made for some wicked dreams at night.
