I don't know what to think today....
I have been feeling a little sentimental this weekend, my 40th birthday was yesterday and today we went to my favorite locally restaurant. My wife and I have been going to this restaurant since it opened 16 years ago, the owner was in tonight and dropped a bomb on us telling us this was the last night for the restaurant because he was being forced out by the building owner who was not renewing his contract and raising his monthly rent by $3000.00 a month.
I was devastated, we stayed for a while reminisced and took pictures and said our goodbye'*.
When I got home I took out a book I received a couple Christmas'* ago called "This is New York" which is a compilation of photographs of the 9-11 World Trade Center attacks (you can find this book at a Discovery Store or good bookstore near you). I look through this book every now and then to remind myself of the horror of what the country went through that day and to be thankful for my family, my health and the life I enjoy.
But fate was not done throwing me curve balls today as I came across a picture I had never notices before, it'* not a very powerful picture, it doesn't depict human loss or the dominating human spirit to go on but it was bitter sweet never the less, most of you should recognize the vehicle in this picture.
With my family all around me yesterday I was feeling pretty good but today just stinks.

Happy belated birthday. I will be 40 in October and I don't look forward to it. I just keep telling myself that age is just a number.
Hang in there. Tomorrow is another day.
