Add it to your list of things to get and do. A squirt here and there will make a big difference in the long run. Most poeple don't care anymore because the consider a car a disposable item. Buy it, drive it for 5 years, then get a new one.

be glad that the balljoints are even greaseable, I see so many cars that do not have zerks on the factory parts.

a grease gun is cheap, and it takes just a few minutes to do. I have 166,000 on original balljoints and tie rod ends, all still feel tight. Much easier to grease them every so often then to replace them.

Agreed. A little goes a long ways. I hate the throw away attitude.

I think it should be added here that for people who haven't done them, watch the grease cup fill and dont overgrease. I have came upon many a bad part that happened because someone over-greased, blew a crack in a grease cup, and it no longer kept water out and grease in.

Chris, your roads must be alot better down Zelienople. Greased or not, no one up here can brag about getting that kind of mileage on a front end. LOL!

I'll bet the roads in Purgatory are like hell. I also heard the road to Purgatory is paved with good intentions. That must be hard on the ball joints. Expecially if your ball joints are old.

I'm just down by Pittsburgh, where in gods name is Purgatory?

Honestly, I've just been convinced that the H cars have better front end components then what I am used to, every one of my W cars has had to have every last piece of front suspension replaced at some point. I would probably still have factory inner tie rods, but those got replaced with the new steering rack.

Northeast corner. 50 miles north of Scranton, 25 miles west of I-81. If you google Montrose, PA, zoom out, look NE and find Laurel Lake. We get our mail over at a Post Office named Brackney (18812) Brackney has it, a bar, and a garage, and died off with the rest of the area when the oak tree'* ran out over 100 years ago. It'* the P.O for us, Liberty, Lawsville, Choconut, Quaker Lake, Silver Lake. Everything here is referred to as "goat acres" You have to bulldoze into a hill to find a place to build a house these days. In some parts of the country you find bullet holes in road signs. Here it'* in out of state cars going by...... Found the place while doing some excavation work back in the 90'*, it appealed to me. A good place to find quiet, freedom, forest, game, and cheap acreage. Ultra cheap taxes. We have no local government. No Police. No home delivery of mail. Very little paved roads. No street lights. No TV reception. No cell coverage. Not even garbage pickup.
