Well, I installed Release Candidate 1 at about 6 o'clock. Here it is, about 7:45 and I am back to XP Pro already.
I kinda liked the look, but the interface was horrendous. And all the extra DVD and CD burniong crap, and other stuff I never investigated... Can you say Bloatware boys and girls???

I use it more and more on my laptop everyday, it'* just amazing, and the interface is top notch.
Keep in mind the RC1 is Ultimate, so it'* got ALL the crap and features you can imagine, so that'* why you may feel there'* too much in there.

I installed RC on a old laptop I dont use much. The laptop is a Compaq 2545 P4 2400 mhz with 60gb hd and 512mb ram. I paid $125.00 for this laptop last month.
All I can say is that RC1 Vista runs good but slower than XP therefore I am not sold yet.

There are also rumers that MS wants to charge a yearly fee after Vista is out. Some people with older equipment will have problems. Forget the certification, but it will be required to be compatible with Vista.

Oh yea, I would never recommend Vista for some with less than dual core, and 1GB RAM, and some serious video power. Once you start to loose the fancy pretty features, it'* just not that good anymore :P
Luckily I have a dual core (4400+ equialent) CPU, 1GBRAM, SATA 100GB, and high end Intel graphics in my laptop, so it makes it extra fun. I can do all the CPU intensive windows task I can imagine at the same time and CPU usage never exceeds 25%. Ex: crazy task switcher, which playing a video that'* being displayed IN the crazy animations, and with tons of apps open, etc.
