Default ABS?

I stuck this here because it'* about my Chevy K1500 Silverado. I know the thing has ABS, but it'* not working. Is there a sensor that could be bad, or is it that whole computer dealy? I'd kinda like to have anti-locks before the MAJOR winter weather kicks in...

I believe it would be roughly the same design as our cars. Wires and connectors to check leading to each speed sensor at each wheel.

Thanks much! I will be playing under my truck on Saturday anyway because I have to change my oil before too long, so I'll just check wires and sensors while I'm there

Christy, if your 90 K1500 has ABS, it'* only rear wheels, and it'* only in 2wd. It should be disable in 4wd.

They didn't have 4w ABS in 90 on the half-ton trucks, so they just went rear, and obviously that could cause problems in 4wd if you think about it.

This was the same all the way through 1993 at least before they went 4wheel ABS.

I knew that, but one of the nice little control wires was disconnected.

Don't tell my fiance I solved this one myself, if I show too much mechanical aptitude, I'll have to do all my truck work
