Hey now! Just because I woke up in bed with you, doesn't mean I am gay!

Although, I think we all knew dirty boys turn you on.

It really depends on the brands of parts that the particular store deals with, but for most of my parts, I deal with Advanced Auto. The people at the local Advanced store are very knowledgeable and VERY polite (even on a very busy day).

Autozone on the other hand... Their employees just fell off the stupid train and I don't mean a 'car illiterate' stupid train, but all out, dumber-than-a-box-of-rocks, stupid train. And if there are a bunch of cars in the parking lot, I don't even bother going in. Most of the time, if I need something from them, I walk in (if it'* not busy), swing the keyboard/monitor over so I can use the computer and find the part that I had already found online before I went there. Before I started using their computers myself, I felt like beating them over the head with the keyboard on many occasions! Here'* one thing that happened right after I bought my Bravada:
Me - "I've got a 2000 Oldsmobile Bravada w/ 4.3L"
Them - "Ok, um that was a 2000 right"
Me - "Yeah, 2000 Olds Bravada"
Them - "Um... Ok, Oldsmobile..."
Me - "Yeah"
Them - "Well, according to my computer, Oldsmobile didn't make a Bravada"
Me - (ready to pull out the stupid stick) - "Well sir, the vehicle just outside the door begs to differ. Maybe you should have put in 'Oldsmobile Truck'."
Them - "Oh, ok, my bad..." (looks like he can't figure out how to backup and make the change so he cancels out entirely)
Me - grabs the keyboard select 2000, hit 'O' and then '2' for Olds Truck. Hits '1' for Bravada, yada, yada, yada and in a matter of seconds I have the part number for him to go fumble around in the storage racks for another 10 minutes before he comes back with the part.
Very **** poor service all together. Makes me wonder why I even bother with them anymore. There used to be 2 guys that worked there that actually knew what they were doing with the computer and actually knew quite a bit about automobiles, but they must have gotten pissed with the current employees and got the h3ll out of dodge.

Napa used to be my store of choice before we moved and now it'* just a hassle to get to (its in the center of town while Autozone or Advanced is on the outskirts). The guys at the local napa are very knowledgeable and great to deal with, but, most of the time, Advanced beats their prices anyhow.

I don't think I have any of the others listed in the poll close by so I can't comment.

I have tried to get parts from them in the past, and was sold the wrong part.... I told them it was the wrong part, but they told me it was correct.... Another time they tried to sell me the wrong Trans filter and pan gasket.... They told me I was wrong again... I told them it looks exactly like a 4T60-E filter and pan gasket but the gasket is missing one hole... They brused me off... Both time I got my money back.... I hardly buy anything from them now...

I usually shop Advance as they are closer... They sold me the wrong part one time, I brought the original piece in and they guy looked at it and said " yeah I see how that wouldn't work "... He continued " They seem to get a lot of inccorrect PN'* in the system " .... I will give him this, we went back and dug through the hoses and bam there was the one I needed... At least he was nice about everything...

Out of everything I expect, in the least if they treat me with respect I will do the same for them... This guy didn'r fight or argue with me in the least, he was more than friendly and helpful... Thats the kind of place I want to shop at...

Before Dicount became part of Advance, I had to return an ECM( Faulty )... The guy behind the counter fought with me and fought with me that the problem was my car and not the ECM... I asked him how it was possible to reset the ECM and have 4 codes as soon as I turn the ignition on... He had no answer.... I asked him " Would you like to check the car ans see if it has any codes in it right now?" He said nothing.... I told hime the car was sitting out there and pointed to it... I said it has a junk yard computer in it and runs great with no codes...

At the time I knew the manager, so I told him to get her up there.... She came up and saw me, wanted to know the problem, I explained to her.... She said to her employee " well, give the man his money back, if he says the ECM is bad its bad... Refund his money... That guy didn't say a word to me...

I really hate it when they know absolutely noting about cars and work there, and they give you that dumb founded look when you ask for something simple....

End Rant
come to ur local napa i know a lot about cars

I dated a guy whose dad owned/ran a Napa store and we went in there after hours and I got to see the basement where they hung the mufflers and stuff. He even got some stuff (oil filter, oil, tranny fluids, windshield wiper fluid, and wiper blades) for my car and put it on in the parking lot. That was a good Napa experience.
