*slams head on desk* i hate computers
well ok, i got XP on my moms computer, workin just peachy, in fact im on it now...before all the goings on, i saved her valuable stuff on my HD...and umm somehow it disappeared, i may have accidentally deleted it or something, but at any rate its gone...i even ran some recovery programs and whatnot but to no avail...BUT
i found a floppy that has some of her important data on it...but everytime i try to access it in any form it says it cannot read from the specified source or drive....the drive works fine, i tried it on my computer as well with the same result...all other floppies work fine on both computers.
the file im trying to get too was written by Microsoft Works on a Windows ME platform if that makes any difference, im about ready to kick this thing over the hill....but shes already mad at me for losing her stuff (understandable but i swear i dont know what happened!)

i think it was overwritten, because i installed some games of my sisters on there earlier today, i may have accidentally deleted them out of habit this morning....im so dumb some times...
it wasnt anything uber important, lots and lots of song lyrics that she had typed up to print and pass out at church so the people could sing along and whatnot, and then shes in charge of the church newsletter so she had all the addresses on there, thats whats on the floppy... maybe ill get lucky

well she prints them out as labels and actually was just getting ready to print them the other day when our printer gave up the ghost...old technology is finally giving out on us around here...luckily i was able to recover some of the stuff off the floppy by checking it for errors and fixing them and whanot...there were still alot of errors while loading it, but it managed to save quite a few of them, so thats better than nothing at all...also this computer is truckin right along for running XP Pro
its a Gateway 400c with a 400mhz Celeron,256MB PC100, and a 20gb 7200rpm HD..and im really very impressed with how its running this OS.
