When will people learn to not talk and drive at the same time?? i mean how many people need to be killed or seriously hurt for everyone to understand.. i live in snobville Boca Raton where even freakin teenage girl & adults are talkin on the phone and arent paying attention. i cant count how mant times so one has hit me cuz they were on they're phone and trying to switch lanes and didnt see me. the other night i was at the local publix and this lady in her porsche was to busy tryin to dial or sumthin as i was walking out of the store and she HAD to drive in front of me slowly.. so i yelled at her "LEARN HOW TO DRIVE YOUR POS(used the actual words)CAR and GET OFF THE PHONE!) hehe i didnt think she heard me but than she honked and flip me off!! funnyest thing!!

this guy here is very lucky he didnt kill himself or the lady he hit

I agree. Granted, I've been guilty of taking a call while driving, but some people barely have the mental ability to drive. And then they get on the phone and forget the resto fo the world. One the occasions when I do have to take a call while driving, I still make driving my main focus. And I warn whoever I'm talking to (usuaually The Missus with a short Honeydew list) that I am in the car and can't talk for long

I'm torn on whether it should be a law of it'* own. I don't wanna get pulled over just for talking on the phone, but GAWD I want some of them morons who are obviously unable to drive while talking could be.

Actually, I wish at times that I still drove a car with BlueLights and a ticket book in it....

I rarely will use my phone while driving. When I do, it seems that I lose so much focus on the road. Same goes for eating, drinking, reaching to get something, etc. Some people need to keep their focus on traffic.

Yeah, I was an Army MP for about 12 of my almost 15 years in.

And I like the motor pool thing. Except for the idea of getting caught and going to jail...

I talk with my speakerphone on so my hands are free to drive and I can look around me without worrying about holding a phone to my ear.

I believe it should be a law. No cell phones while driving. None, whatsoever. $200 fine if caught. No questions, no court appearances. I was riding with one of my friends [16yr girl] and one of her friends called while she was driving, and she could barely keep the car on the road. I read somewhere [don't ask me where] that driving while having a conversation [whether it be a cell phone, or another passenger in the car] limits you MORE than driving with a .08%+ blood-alcohol content. There are some people that are capable of driving while talking on a cell phone, but they are a minority. It is the same with the driving age. [I am not saying this about myself], but there are many people who are fully capable of having a full license before 16. However, the majority of people aren't, so the driving age is 16 [and even that is a little low for some of the idiot teens in this town]. Majority overcomes Minorities when it comes to laws and such. This can be a good thing, but also a bad one.

My mom for example.. gets distracted very easily.. like lets say we are driving passed a beautiful lake or river.. she'll look at that lake or river instead of the road. Then it takes me to get her attention back on the road. This has caused some hard braking many times, along with some less than 6" of clearance between us and the car in front. I never let her pick up her phone when I am in the car with her, because of that.
