I thought the mosquitoe was the state bird. Theere are some bigguns in the UP.

At one time there were 5 different Interurban, trolly, tracks down Woodward Ave.

Novi was stop number 6 from the stagecoach line leaving Detroit.

We've lived in a lot of nice states, but it seems Michigan will be "it" for us.

We did live briefly in Oregon and the North Umpqua River area would be hard to beat for beauty. Beautiful and bare secondary roads for 4 and 2 wheeled Bonneville riding (sorry, off-topic -- that'll have to be a new thread sometime)
