I'd like to say that I wasnt biased either way when I made my choice that PC-compatible was better than Apple-based systems (I laid my hands on my first computer when I was 8, that woulda been a 286 with win 3.0. Now I'm a computer engineer, and have made my choice on years of experience).
I had numerous jobs in HS using apple'* and pc'* equally, including 2 years using the highest end apples of the time (g4'*, I quit right before the release of the g5'*) and photoshop. Since everyone was ranting and raging about how apples and graphics went together, my company kept buying apples (unfortunately), upgrading better than every 6 months. So, I used them. And you know what, I woulda brought my homebuilt pc in to work any day of the week, and for a dozen reasons, not just speed.
Sure, you always hear people talking about apples and graphics, apples and graphics...., but have you ever done it yourself? Have you ever heard of a workforce switching between the two to see which ones they preferred, and not their employers? Try them both yourselves once, and then you'll have experience on which to base your claims.
And no, I'm not a huge fan of Microsoft.
