Excellent! Thanks for the input, everybody. I'll be using many of these nicknames, and probably make some kind of reference to the fact that, just like seamen, we give names to our 'boats' or 'land yachts' (to use Todd'* reference). I'm not guaranteeing a great final product, but if I feel the story turns out well I'll post it here in the lounge.
Keep 'em coming if there are more! I know driverjohn hasn't contributed yet, but I have to use his 'Grandma'* Revenge' moniker. It'* just too good to ignore!

well this is a funny coincedance (spelling?) but i was thinking of names today to name my car, when a song that i really like came on the radio.... (Don't Fear) The Reaper
and thuse my car got its name today
now i only have to think of a name for my pet turtle that i have had for 8 years

my friends all call my car "the land yacht" which I dont mind since I know its a big car.
just means more room for electronics and more room in the back seat
