without vehicle damage in GT, Forza will always be the BETTER SIMULATOR
besides... we all have first hand experience driving racecars so we can definately make a good comparison on the physics

When the GT series decides to have collision detection, modeling, and realism I'll consider it a respectable racing game.

I should clarify what I meant by realism. Collision realism, damage realism, etc etc.
It really takes away from the fun to be able to drive like an idiot in a game and it has no negative results.
Otherwise the GT series is fine, but damage is a big issue to me in racing games.

I played both GT5 and Forza 2, and I like F2 better ONLY BECAUSE there is no improvement over GT2 and GT3 while F2 lets you watch suspension numbers change in replay mode. Plus, GT5 feels a little too arcade-like for me. There isn't as much tuning available right off the bat, and a lot of the good tracks are missing. It seems to be more like a Need For Speed game than GT.

I feel the opposite way. To me, FM2 feels too arcadey. I know this is a cliche, but GT5 gives you the feeling that the car is an extension of yourself, it just feels so natural. You just don't get that with FM2. Don't get me wrong, I like FM2, I just don't think it stacks up to GT5 in physics, or graphics. Especially graphics.
Another thing that gets me about FM2, is that even GT4 looks and plays better, even though it'* a PS2 game.

I do realize it'* a demo, but the real track list doesn't seem too cool either. I can't find the whole thing, though. Bits and pieces of it are all over the net.
I think GT4 is one of the best looking, best handling racing games I've played. However, I like GT3 better. If GT2 loaded faster and looked better, it would be the best GT ever made.
