Much similaraly is the International Freedom Festival held on the shores of the Detroit River sometime between July 1 - 4 (varies from year to year). Filled with a solid hour of fireworks launched from three barges stationed on the river (closed to traffic during that time, obviously). Preceeding the fireworks is an enormous fair on the US and Canada side. I will honestly say that it is more fun to hang out on the Windsor side for the festival!!

Well since you asked:
Friday night, after work, Dawn wash and clay bar the family van. I want to do a full detail on the Van this weekend.

Up early on Saturday and polish the van followed by 2 coats of Zaino Z5. Then off to a Memorial Day parade in my city. In the afternoon I will put a coat of Zaino Z2 on the Bonneville. If I feel like it I will begin to make a mold for the grille of a 2004 Bonneville. I have the grille material and the templates for the actual grille are ready to be glued to the 2X6 and then it is time to cut away on the 2X6.

Sunday it is up early again and put a coat of Z2 on the family van then off to church. After church on goes the second coat of Z2 for the van. Then it is off to a Memorial Day party at a long time friends home.

Monday it is up early and install a dash kit in the Bonneville and then off to my Dad’* house to make him dinner and relax by the cement pond.

Of course if it rains then the schedule will be altered. LOL

Veterans Day, Memorial Day....
Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is a day of remembrance for those who have died in our nation'* service.

Veterans' Day (formerly Armistice Day)
November 11, is the anniversary of the Armistice which was signed in the Forest of Compiegne by the Allies and the Germans in 1918, ending World War I, after four years of conflict.
The name was changed to Veterans' Day by Act of Congress on May 24, 1954. In October of that year, President Eisenhower called on all citizens to observe the day by remembering the sacrifices of all those who fought so gallantly, and through rededication to the task of promoting an enduring peace. The President referred to the change of name to Veterans' Day in honor of the servicemen of all America'* wars.

On a side note, on the 10th Veteran'* day, 1964, a great man by the name of MOS95B was born.....

Now you know. And knowing is half the battle they never explained the other half...

I might have to go out of town to pick up my car and I guess I will visit some friends while I'm there. I don't have any specific plans yet though.

*edited 5/27/04* My car is ready and they are driving it to me. They should after charging me $200 to fix my a/c and that was after I already bought the new compressor, etc. Now I don't know what kind of plans I have.

Here in Central Ohio, our options for Memorial Day are more limited.
We have the Memorial Tournament in town, and the gods of Columbus so hate golfers that they bring the rain in buckets EVERY year. If we don't get at least 4" of water during the tournament, it'* a drought!
My plans; If I'm not working, I'll be partying my *** off. Might go to one of the local cruise-ins.

BTW, Jim, before you ask how many "Memorial-Day-type holidays" we have, what was that crap in 1812 about?!
